Arbi or Kachalu or Colocasia root in Dahi(curd)




  Ingredients:

  • Kachalu or arbi (500 gms)
  • Salt
  •  Oil for frying
  •  Turmeric powder 1/4 tspn
  • Coriander powder 2 tspn
  • Coriander Leaves finley chopped 1 tsp
  • Red chilly powder 1 tspn(or less)
  • Curd 1/2 cup
Method:

  • Wash and boil kachalu in  pressure cooker  till one whistle
  •  Let it cool and peel it properly.
  • Sprinkle some more salt,and half fry it in a frying pan on medium flame till almost done(you can prick with k
  •  Then take them out,gently pat it with palm to flatten it(be careful not to break them)
  • Then deep fry them again till crisp and brown
  • Take a bowl add curd  ,all the masalas and coriander leaves. Churn the mixture with a wooden spatula. Add some water and salt accordingly.
  • Now take a thick bottom pan. Put the fried arbi in it and add the above mixture.
  • Cook on a medium flame till the curd dries a little and it is abosrbed by the arbi.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
 
                          It can be served as a side dish or it can  be eaten as a main dish with roti(Indian bread)

                                                                   Well i like this as my main dish :).
